Terms of Service

Last updated: 19/06/2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, purchasing a course, or starting a subscription on Morto Online Academy, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

One account per person. Sharing account credentials or purchased content with others is strictly prohibited and may result in account termination without refund.

3. Purchases & Access

Single-payment / one-time course purchases grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access the purchased course content for personal use for as long as that content remains available on the platform. Courses are not resaleable.

We reserve the right to update, modify, or permanently remove course content at any time. If a course is permanently removed, we will provide at least 30 days' notice where reasonably practicable. Unless required by law, content updates or removals do not automatically create a refund right, as the licence grants access to the platform's current content library and does not constitute perpetual ownership of any specific video or course version.

Access is granted after a successful payment is confirmed. If confirmation is delayed, your access may take a few minutes to appear.

4. Subscriptions

Newsletter Technique Drops

Subscribers to our newsletter are eligible to receive access to new technique drops while subscribed. Each delivered drop may grant access to that specific technique in your account. Subscribing does not unlock the full archive of previously published drops.

Newsletter drop access is consent-based. You can unsubscribe at any time. Unsubscribing stops future marketing/newsletter emails and future drop eligibility, but does not automatically remove technique drops already granted to your account.

Paid Subscription

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected) via Paddle. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

  • Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
  • No partial refunds: We do not refund the unused portion of a billing period after cancellation.
  • Cooling-off period: By activating a paid subscription and accessing subscription-provided content, you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal for the first charge under EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU. Viewing content you already owned, were gifted, or could access for another reason does not count as subscription-provided access.
  • Failed renewals: If a recurring payment fails, we may keep subscription access available for a 7-day grace period while the payment is retried or while the issue is resolved. If payment is not recovered by the end of the grace period, access may expire.
  • Price changes: We will notify affected subscribers at least 31 days in advance of any price change. These notices may be sent as service/billing notices even if you are not subscribed to marketing newsletters. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

5. Payments & Refund Policy

Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as Merchant of Record / authorised reseller for Paddle-processed transactions. Paddle is responsible for checkout, tax calculation, payment collection, invoices, payment method handling, refunds and chargeback processing. Your payment and billing details are handled by Paddle under Paddle's privacy notice, buyer terms and refund policy.

Subscription cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, by contacting us, or through any Paddle buyer cancellation link available in Paddle emails or buyer support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain full access until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused days within a billing period unless required by law or approved by Paddle.

14-day cooling-off period (EU/EEA): If you are an EU or EEA consumer and have not yet accessed the purchased one-time content or content provided by the paid subscription being refunded, you may request a full refund within 14 days of payment by contacting us through the contact page. By accessing content through the relevant purchase or subscription before the 14-day period expires, you explicitly consent to immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that you waive your right of withdrawal under EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU.

Technical faults: If a verified technical fault on our part prevents you from accessing content, contact us and we will resolve the issue promptly or, where resolution is not possible, issue a pro-rata credit or refund at our discretion.

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method via Paddle; the time for the amount to appear in your account may vary depending on Paddle, your bank, or your card issuer and is outside our control. Refunded or charged-back purchases may remove the related course access or subscription access.

6. Intellectual Property

All course videos, materials, logos and content are owned by or exclusively licensed to Morto BJJ Academy by the respective instructors and are protected by copyright. Your purchase grants you only the personal access licence described in Section 3 — no rights are transferred from instructors to you directly. You may not download, reproduce, distribute, broadcast, screen, or create derivative works from any content on the platform.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to circumvent platform security or access content you have not purchased.
  • Use automated tools to scrape or download content.
  • Upload or transmit malware or harmful code.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.

8. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a physical activity. Always consult a qualified instructor and physician before attempting techniques shown in course videos. Morto BJJ Academy is not liable for injury resulting from the application of techniques.

The platform is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific course purchase or subscription period giving rise to the claim.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Greece. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Heraklion, Crete.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Continued use of the platform after the updated terms are posted constitutes your acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email.
